things of note, small and large
The small (in the grand scheme of things): I ran the lake on my own again today.
The large: When donating towards hurricane relief, remember your local food banks. Because resources are, rightly, going towards the survivors, local food banks tend to be depleated of their everyday supplies needed to help their communities. So think about that. If you're sending $50 or whatever to the Red Cross, great. But then go buy $25 worth of non-perishable food and take it to your local food bank. Trust me. $25 can buy a lot of canned and boxed goods if you shop wisely.
