Less than the work itself is the blanket assumption that my time is wide open for their use. No one asked if I was available beyond yesterday. It was just assumed that I have nothing else to do with my time. That's just fucking rude. Then, as luck would have it, I went in this afternoon only to discover that the person heading this project isn't in today. I'd be pissed that he didn't tell me beforehand, but he didn't tell anyone beforehand, so I'm just going to charge for my travel time and enjoy the rest of my suddenly free afternoon.
