I didn't go to prom this year

For those who don't know the background, the Avalon High School Prom is an annual costume event.  It's been billed as "The Prom You Never Had"--partly because the school is entirely fictitious.

The point is, I went last year, but not this year.  I had rehearsal until 7:00 that night, and prom began at 6:00.  For me the fun is dressing up and going to dinner; dancing at the Century Ballroom's Salsa Night doesn't interest me.  I was a little down about missing it until my friend carrot_cake67  called asking if I was free that evening.  Since  I was, she came up and we went out for crepes and wine.  I told her at the time I thought I was having more fun with her than I would have had at prom.  Having heard about the event--fun but not superfun, if you get me--I now know that I was absolutely right.  She and I had a really nice evening, chilling and chatting.  We had yummy crepes and tasty wine.  All in all it was a lovely evening.  I'm glad I had rehearsal so that I couldn't go to prom, so that I could spend the evening with her.

I had a fabu time too! I am glad we were able to get together and it was nice to to experience a new restaurant too!

I must take the man-cub back for dessert. He was bummed I didn't bring home any leftovers. ;)
