She's home!

Thank you to everyone who's expressed support and good wishes!  Morag is home now, had some dinner (mmm...chicken!), had all three of her meds (oy!), and is currently snuggled up on NordicBoy's lap while I post the good news everywhere I can. :D

I learned to give her sub-cu fluids tonight.  Amazing how much easier it is to reconciling oneself to it when one has had a couple of cocktails.  (Don't tell the vet!) But I also kept reminding myself that I have pierced several people's ears, including my own, so I certainly ought to be able to stick a little needle into a kitty.

YAY home kitty and on the way to recovery!
Did the vet every find out what was wrong? sounds like the fluids are a forever thing?

Thanks! It's her kidneys giving out mostly, and maybe an infection. The fluids are, I believe, a forever thing. I did okay last night at the vet giving them to her. Let's hope I can manage it even better at home.

oh no, poor kitty! it's at home kitty dialysis. ;) You'll get used to it. I had a friend with a diabetic cat, and it took her a while, but eventually the daily sub cutan. shots weren't a problem.

I'm okay with sticking the needle in her, and she doesn't seem to mind that part either. It's the fluid itself and the holding still that seem to be the hard part. I tried keeping the bag on my lap to warm it up a bit before we gave it to her last night, but that wasn't overly successful.
