Another great prompt from methylviolet10b. Lestrade is welcome whatever the season. This fic continues the drabble series she started me on. Wicked, wicked Violet! ;-)

The moment he saw Sherlock approaching, Lestrade signalled Anderson to back off. The last thing he needed was that sort of friction. It wouldn’t generate warmth, so it wasn’t useful to him. Anderson removed himself a single step, then stubbornly stayed put, arms crossed over his chest.

Lestrade heaved a small, eloquent, irritated sigh, his breath misting in the bitterly cold morning air. He tucked gloved hands deep into his anorak pockets.

“Lestrade. Anderson,” Sherlock said.

It was a good sign. He’d acknowledged Anderson’s presence without insulting him. Lestrade might have smiled if his face weren’t damned near frozen stiff.

LOL - yes, Sherlock failing to be automatically rude to Anderson is practically a Christmas miracle all in itself. ;-)

And oooh, "wicked violet" sounds like a fun prompt for you (or maybe a band name?). Some other random (but more seasonally appropriate) ideas:

- hoarfrost
- mickle melody
- in the bleak midwinter
- a short while for dreaming

And yes, I'm tickled pick to have earned the wicked moniker! :-D

LOL! "Wicked Violet" does sound like a band name, doesn't it? For some reason, I think it is a steampunk band. ;-)

Oh, now that gives me an idea for today!
