A Christmas drabble forsunkrux! Merry, merry!
John would have forgotten Christmas if Ned hadn't mentioned it. December on the Plateau was essentially the same as July.
Marguerite had much the same thought, and cursed the reporter silently.
Fortunately, neither was caught out on the day.
She unwrapped the gift from John: a hair comb made of inland sea coral. "It's beautiful!"
"This won't be a case of The Gift of the Magi, will it?"
She laughed, removing the new hat she wore and shaking out her long, dark hair. "No." She placed the hat on his head. "It's for you. Happy Christmas, John."
"Happy Christmas, Marguerite."
