Cake pics!

NordicBoy finally uploaded the pics from last weekend's eBook Release Party.  Check out the fantastically fantabulous cake that jenboo made.

         

It was lemony and delicious with amazing buttercream frosting and fondant that was actually not at all bad.  (Anyone who's had fondant knows that it's not the tastiest stuff on Earth, but it makes for a good canvass for pretty pictures.)  Thanks again, jenboo!

That little chocolate cake in the background in middle pic is a wonderful gluten-free creation from Flying Apron bakery.  They do great work.  This cake was chocolate mint and so very rich.  Oy!

jenboo's cake was AWESOME!! It was so good! Does she do this professionally? Or is it more of a hobby; something she does for close friends? Or something in between?

More "something in between". She did the cake for some friends' wedding earlier this year, too.

Monkeybard is right...it's a something in between right now. I've mostly done cakes for close friends. The wedding cake I did last March was probably the most 'professional' cake gig I've done, cake tasting and all. :o) You can see more pictures if you go here: Jenboo's Cakes

Thank you for posting the pics and for having such a great event to celebrate!! It was a pleasure and a privilege to bake for you! And it was a good opportunity to practice some of the skills I learned from Tobey at Sugar! Cake Studio!

I still have a bunch of lemon buttercream in my freezer that I need to make cake to cover. *g* Mmmmm...lemony.
