Wrapping up the summer
Aug. 20th, 2007 10:40 amI know it's only 20 August, but the summer is essentially over here, and not only because GreenStage's shows both closed this weekend. The rains have come and they are insisting that they be allowed to stay. :)
So, as I said, we closed Richard III on Saturday. Several folks from last year's Henry VI cast were there to see the show that night, which was very cool.
vflick and a friend of hers were there. luthien-t and rocketman were there. The Dauphin from 2005's Henry V was there. I think I knew more people in the house on closing than all the rest of the summer combined. Partly my own fault for failing to spam until mid-way through the run. Ah well. It was a great show to close on in spite of the rain.
Clarence:
The first that there did greet my stranger soul
Was my great father-in-law, reknowned Warwick
Who spake aloud...
He's gonna kill me for that, but I can't resist. ::evil grin::
On a completely different note, my friend's book is coming out in print tomorrow. Whee! It's a single-author anthology of three related novellas. I've read them all (bought the ebooks) and am looking forward to having a "real" copy. :D Check it out! It's on amazon.com, barnes&noble.com, and borders.com. I really hope I can just get it at the store, though. They should be carrying it on the shelves, after all, so I don't have to wait (or pay shipping). In all honestly, romance is not my genre, but Kate does it so well that I have yet to get annoyed with the characters, and I've never yelled at them even once. (Yes, I yell at fictional people sometimes. But only when they deserve it. Don't you?) As I told her, I would happily go drinking with any of these heroines. Give yourself a treat and pick up a copy. You'll be glad you did!
