monkeybard: (Hey)
It's been a month of great fic and art over at the [livejournal.com profile] acd_holmesfest fanworks exchange. I received this fabulous, fun fic from the wonderfully talented [livejournal.com profile] tweedisgood.

Lost Property
Pairing: Holmes/Watson established relationship
Rating: PG
Word Count: ~2,750
Summary: It wasn’t Watson.

I recommend you go read it right now and leave much, much love in the comments!

My own contribution to the exchange was for the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] mistyzeo. It is, of course, utterly naughty in nature. ;-)

Fics, fics, and more fics!

This all started because I got sucked into the July 2011 Prompt Fics fest over at the Watson's Woes community. I've added more since then, and will add more as I post more in the future, so I figured the least I could do was put a Master Fic List here where it would be easy for people to find. Hopefully you'll discover something you enjoy amidst all my rambling and silliness.

Side note on labels: Most of my fics are "squint-friendly", meaning you can read them as gen or bromance or slash depending on how you want to read them. Exceptions are usually noted, but I freely admit to a certain lack of diligence in that area. Also, my default setting is slash, so don't be surprised if it turns up when you weren't expecting it; it's safe to assume that I always expect it.

Canon-related fics )

BBC-Sherlock fics )

BBC Sherlock Watson's Woes 2013 )

BBC Sherlock Watson's Woes 2014 (mostly) )

July Writing Prompts 2015 )

All of these fics (and many from two other fandoms) can be found over on www.DNashionalArchive.com. Frankly, I think they're easier to read over there (i.e., prettier), but you can't comment there should you so desire.
You can also find all these Sherlockian fics over on AO3, where you can comment and/or kudo if you'd like to.

I'll edit this into my Master Holmesian Fic List after the month is over. For now, this will do.

I cannot claim to be particularly proud of my behaviour... )

I'm participating in the current ACD Holmes fic exchange and my prezzie just went up today! You need to go read it. It's soooooo gooooood! Here's the link: Dark Have Been My Dreams.

I can't tell you yet which story I wrote, but once all the authors are revealed I'll make sure to post my fic here and elsewhere. Now go forth and enjoy! It's work safe, it's not too long, and you'll love it. :-D

A/N: This is a well-timed prompt. Since I didn't have time to write the second fic I thought of yesterday, I'm using today to do so. (Yes. I didn't even have time to write another 221B or a drabble yesterday, I was that busy.)
Yesterday's prompt: Botany Bay: Plants frequently play an important part in Holmesian stories. Pick an herb, flower, or other plant, and make it a key part of your entry today.

: Doors by methylviolet10b [http://holmestice.livejournal.com/77505.html]
Word count: 856
Author's Note the First: A while back, the lovely and talented methylviolet10b wrote a fic called Doors [http://holmestice.livejournal.com/77505.html] for Holmestice. And then today, the evil and sneaky methylviolet10b gave me a plot bunny that is the offspring of that fic and this challenge. I've given it a home, food, and a chance to grow up to possibly spawn plot bunnies of its own someday.
Author's Note the Second: Telling me to get my mind out of the gutter is the fastest way to send it there. Although I am delighted with the mods' use of the word "spelunking".
Disclaimer: Still not mine.
DATE: July 28
PROMPT: Enclosed spaces - Whether that's a closet (oy, minds out of the gutter ppl), spelunking expedition, collapsed tunnel (muahaha), or just general claustrophobia or the mental sense of being trapped, use the prompt however it strikes you.
