Thanks for the feedback from the back row, which is not to say the peanut gallery.... Anyway, good to know as outdoor performance is new to me. I/we will work on upping the volume. As for the other comments, I think there are a lot of people out there who hold the book in very high regard and therefore will happily follow along with any and all versions they see. I'm not entirely certain why this is. I know I read it as a kid and don't remember it making a major impression one way or the other. Our director told us that Grahame wrote the book using his spoiled and probably ADHD son as the model for Toad, which certainly makes sense to me. Amusing story: ravenzanne said after the show she saw a small boy go up to our Toad and ask him to sign his copy of the book.
