Usually I love the rain
Jul. 22nd, 2005 10:42 amI do. I love the rain. However, when I woke to the sounds of rain this morning my first thought was, 'Crap! We open tonight!' I've done theatre in the rain before. I've done theatre in such heavy rain that the mic covers were soaked and we couldn't hear our cues, and I've done theatre in lighter rain where we simply talked faster so we could get back under cover to where the heater was. I have not done theatre in the rain when it involved steep dirt slopes and weapon-weilding combat scenes. While I'm not jazzed about getting wet while acting, that's really less of a concern to me than slipping on the grass stage and accidentally getting killed by a guy with a wooden staff, or twisting an ankle or knee while off-roading backstage, or whatever. The rain seems to have paused for now. Please everyone keep your fingers crossed that the sun breaks through this afternoon and dries at least the top layer of the ground, even if it stays soggy underneath.
