For a day that started with a migraine and a trip to the dentist, today has been amazingly good. I've gotten the laundry done, vacuumed, and cleaned the bathroom. I'm now exhausted, but that's okay because there's nothing else that needs to be done until dinner time. :)

So let me tell you about my day of thrifting with [livejournal.com profile] jaunthie. I picked her up at 9:30 on saturday morning, and delivered her home again shortly after 4:00. Yes, when I say it was a day of thrifting, I mean it was a whole day of thrifting: We started up north, hit two Value Villages and Deseret, paused for lunch in Ballard, hit a vintage and stuff store there, another Value Village, Good Will, and finally the ACS Discovery Store. Whew! I'm a thrifting freak when I get in the mood, and I fear I exhausted jaunthie, but she insisted she had fun. There are still a few more places in town that I want to take her to, but that's up to her. Maybe between Christmas and New Year's... We'll see.

While we unfortunately didn't accomplish our goal, we did find some spiffy things. jaunthie found a cute black dress, and she got these fabu silver high-heeled sandals that are to die for! She even found some nifty gifties for other folks. And we found a fantastic rennish skirt for me. It's fabu! I replaced the elastic waistband today and took it up to the dry cleaners. I hope we can go visit Ryalin for the Ren Faire this year. I need an occasion to wear my new skirt. ;)

We paused for lunch during our day and went for Pho. Now I'd had Pho once before and been underwhelmed, but as a friend once said, "I'll try anything twice in case I did it wrong the first time." This time, it was delicious. I don't know if it was my mindset or the fact that we were both starving or if it was just better. Whatever the reason, YUM! I owe jaunthie lunch and then some. I had no cash this weekend, so she sprung for both the skirt and lunch. Again, perhaps between Christmas and New Year's... :D

Plans for NYE are moving forward. We have about 25 confirmed, and about half a dozen maybes. Now if everyone else would just respond one way or the other, we'd be golden. It's so crazy this time of year, and it's easy to forget to RSVP. I sent a friendly reminder to everyone who hadn't RSVPed and suddenly six new replies appeared. It's amazing what a friendly reminder can do.

Oooo!
