Henry VI is open!  We have successfully gotten the first weekend under our swordbelts.  Opening night in Lynnwood was charged with energy, and the audience was great.  Lynnwood is apparently starved for Shakespeare, as GreenStage always gets good houses there.  Of course, this may have something to do with the fact that the two theatres in Edmonds don't do The Bard.  One just doesn't have the capacity.  The other are just cowards, IMO.  Dear folks, but so painfully ignorant about Shakespeare that it alternately makes me want to scream or cry, and it always makes me want to shake some sense into them.  But I digress.

We had Friday off, much to everyone's relief.  Then we followed up our opening with two shows in Woodland Park.  The bunnies aren't quite so abundant this year due to a pair of hawks that moved in sometime in the last two weeks.  Saturday night, one hawk flew right over the audience at the top of the hawking scene in Part 2.  How perfect.  :D  Sunday we were rained on briefly.  A few weenies left, but most folks were prepared and broke out their brollies.  Stout fellows, all! ;)

We did have our share of wonkiness on the third night, though.  As Talbot says, third or fourth show in, things usually get wonky.
Henry VI Injury report:
Talbot - sword to the head
Eleanor - twisted ankle
Somerset - scraped up knee
Not too bad, but not good either.  Fortunately we have a few days before we have to get up on our feet again.

Next weekend we have a pair of shows at Camp Long, and that includes our first matinee.  I only hope we don't get another heat wave.  It was actually a bit chilly after sunset each night this weekend.  It could stay that way and I'd be happy.  I'll be good with it if it doesn't top 70 the day of the matinee.

Just because it is your priority does not make it anyone else's priority.  Your friends have lives.  You should consider getting on for yourself.
