Talking funny
Aug. 14th, 2008 10:42 pmSo, after feeling next to useless at DP last night (How do you teach any sort of NY accent without reference materials or prep to a guy who very obviously doesn't want to learn it right then? Answer: You can't. Or at least I can't.), I had a much better time at SMT tonight. They're doing 1776, which means: Mid-Atlantic; mild New England; a variety of Southern; and one Scottish brogue. And, as if I knew what the hell I was talking about or something, I stood in front of some 20+ men and explained how to do all of the above dialects. I even answered any of their questions with a modicum of authority. That was just a little slice of too cool for words.
Icing on the cake: I discovered after I got there that I know six of the guys in the cast, and it was a delight to see all of them. :D
