monkeybard: (Supergirl)

It seems clear to me after watching the season premier of H5-0 that Peter, Bob, and Alex have serious issues with strong women.

So, what is it, guys? A woman can only be a) strong, b) powerful, c) authoritative, and d) trustworthy if she is 1) a member of the H5-0 team AND 2) is a blood relation to another member? Is that it? Every other woman in any position of power must be a turncoat because it is staticstically impossible for there to be more than one professional, competent, bad-ass, reliable, trustworthy woman in the universe you have created. (And don't even get me started on irresposible twattishness of Rachel.)

Boys, boys, boys. Please stop poisoning television with your emotional insecurities. Get professional therapy; don't expect your viewers to provide it for you.
I need to watch some Doctor Who to cleanse my brain.

Yeah, I enjoyed the rest of the episode, but that last bit had me handwaving like crazy. "Maybe she's, uh, being blackmailed! Or is deep undercover! Or..."

Sadly, yesterday's episode did nothing to clear up ANY of it, so I'm still stuck in handwaving territory. And have added much, much rage at how a subplot that shouldn't have been sub was handled. Let's just say I wanted to shoot three main characters in the balls by the end.

So, uh, guess you've been warned. Keep a drink handy.
