I do like the way, despite the bizarreness of the case, you've kept them all in character. Lestrade's matter of fact "I'd have called you if we'd found a headless corpse" and the jibing, as well as John's sensible decision to stop at the off-license, speak really well of people just doing a difficult job - in a decidedly gruesome situation (your muse has a lot to answer for). And poor Hopkins!
