monkeybard: (brushedblueveil)

These days, I look forward to mondays.
I know it's just fundamentally wrong, but right now that's just the way it is.  I get things done on mondays.  Take today for example.  It starteed with some yoga.  Then after a shower I went to the grocery store (two, actually), and when I got home, I vacuumed.  I later helped figure out that the gutters are not, at least directly, responsible for the leaking in the kitchen.  Then the kitty and I spent a nice time on the sofa while I finished reading The Kathy and Mo Show, and read some more of the Dr. Who book my brother-in-law loaned me.  Tonight, I have a Monkey rehearsal.  All in all, a good day.  I didn't do any writing, and I'm not going to have the time today, but even that's okay.  I can write, and transcribe ::sigh::, tomorrow.  I keep reminding myself that it's a blessing in disguise that the Mac in the basement can't talk to the world at large, but I'm ceasing to believe it.  Unfortunately, without an archaic modem, there's just no other way.  When I say hopefully, "USB port?" or "Memory stick?", my wee Mac just looks at me quizzically and gives me an apologetic shrug.

Now I'm going to play with making a new default icon.  You'll know either by the end of the day or perhaps tomorrow if I've had any success.

See?  Mondays can be cool sometimes.

Instead of transcribing, have you tried...

...saving the files as .txt files onto floppy disks (and I know your wee Mac has a 3.25 drive), and then taking them to the library to the modern Macs, and loading them up from there? Or even saving them in their current format and taking them to said library? Just curious...
