I've now read both plays that GreenStage is doing this summer. I'll say what I've said before: I certainly wouldn't say no to a part in Two Gents, but I would really love to play in RIII.
that means i actually have to start preparing...you know...*audition* stuff...aaah! so i assume they want contrasting shakespeare monologues? the shorter the better?
You know, I read 2 Gents and had a moment of "Hey! I did that mononlogue!" Someone else did it for 460 and I liked it, so I did it when I was studying with the NSC. I had completely forgotten about it until yesterday. lol
Well, I know they need men... I'm going to do a Mercutio monologue (funny, verse) and a Quickly monologue (serious, prose). Got any good Benvolio you can pull out of your back pocket?
s'possible...which reminds me...how do auditors feel about performing monologues from shows you've been in that are on your resume? i've heard that it's frowned upon, like you're too lazy to find something new...personally, I think if it's a good piece, it shouldn't matter, but I was wondering if you'd heard anything to that effect?
I've heard both sides of that. I think it comes down to the director's opinion, over which we have no control. :P I agree with you, though. If it's good, use it!
i just checked my calendar, and i have a family reunion the first weekend of august so i'll be out of town...they pretty much have performances every weekend july - mid aug, right?
