Baseball season now officially underway!

monkeybardIt was Opening Day yesterday. The Mariners won. They shut out Oakland. Felix went eight innings and JJ closed it out. This all makes me very happy.
For dinner, we had "hot dogs and apple pie". That is to say, I baked halibut fillets in foil pouches with the usual seasonings and basil and fennel, placed the fillets on toasted whole wheat hot dog buns, then topped them with a slaw of red cabbage, green onion, more basil and fennel, salt, pepper, and lime juice. With fruit salad and a beer, a most delectable dinner. Oh, and there was an apple tart for dessert. An American tradition gone Pacific Northwest.
