I wasn't sure, after removing v. old carpet, et al, from the basement if I was getting sick or if I was just having really bad allergies from all the crap released by NordicBoy's and my efforts.  I am now certain it is not allergies.  Ugh.

Rum! ;D Thanks for the offers, but I'm managing okay. I've been watching vids and netsurfing. And I think I'll dip into the scotch soon. Wonder how it mixes with the cold meds... ;)
