Autumn Approacheth

It feels like fall today.  Overcast skies, temperature around 60ish (Well it was earlier, now its gotten up to 70 and I'm a little annoyed, but at least the sky is still gray.), detritus falling from the damned horsechestnut tree...  I love autumn.  It's my favourite season of the year, which is a little funny because many of my favourite things actually take place in the summer.  Things like outdoor theatre, long hours of daylight, blackberries, baseball, and barbecues.  But along with those lovelies comes the interminable days of direct sunshine and the heat and, worst of all, the limited rainfall.  You know what the perfect season would be? An autumn where the sun rises around 7ish and doesn't set until 10:00.  That'd be spiffy.  But, Earth's axis being what it is (and we're glad it is what it is, thank you, Moon) and its orbit being where it is (and that's okay, too) that ain't happening.  So I'll happily take what I get.  Cooler weather, overcast skies, rain, rain, rain, short days and long nights, the damned tree (but in all fairness it drops crap from March to November), more rain, dark evenings that are great for candlelight and a fire in the fireplace, cozy snuggles with the kitty, more gray skies, more cooler weather...  (Do you sense a theme?  ;) )

Hmm...  I have a spring icon, a summer icon, a winter solstice icon.  Wherefore do I lack an autumnal icon?  I need to remedy that.  ::off to search for appropriate pics...::

I thought of that yesterday, when I was planning when I'd do my daily walks. Evening? Well, I'd probably have to walking by about 4pm, to miss any afternoon crowds but still be home well before dark. Morning? Sun won't rise until...what...7am? That means I probably don't want to be leaving the house at 6:30am if I plan on walking by myself. (Or maybe I'll be able to get away with that. I don't know how safe the neighborhood is. That could be just fine. Guess I'll find out.)

I'm looking forward to using my candles, though. No fireplace, no decks...but I'm lighting the candles, dangit. :D

7am now, yeah, but it'll be later soon. You know what it's like living north. You can go for weeks without seeing your home in daylight except on the weekends. Lemme know when you have a walking schedule. I'll join you whenever I can.

I'm so glad I'll be missing all that GRAY! :P A little of the rain here wouldn't hurt at LB just got put on water rationing. BUT since I don't have a lawn or a sidewalk, I'm golden.

Good luck with the icon search. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay an extra bit on my paid account to get more space for iconage...I need to add some totally rockin' kick ass Marian from BBC's Robin Hood to my collection. btw, did you know how EVIL my twinny is? LOL ;)

The icon hunt was pretty successful. *points to her Bad Ass Lucy Griffiths icon and I have 3 of Lucy as Marian. :) How'd your hunt go? Any luck with an autumnal icon?
