Emerging from NaNo insanity to wave hello to folks.  ::waves::  Hello!  I'm over 9000 words as of today.  Not too shabby. :)  Although I feel like it's all exposition and somewhat boring stuff.  Maybe someone else would think otherwise if they read it, but it's all theatre stuff so far (My MMC needs a job.) and to me it's all "been there, done that" stuff because, well, I've been there, done that MANY, MANY TIMES.  Still, the characters are having conversations that I find interesting.  That's a plus.  Of course, I still need to figure out who else is going to get hired.  (Turns out there are two positions needing filling rather than one, as I had previously thought.)  I also need a plot.  One seems to be slowly building--something vaguely sinister and suspicious--but I just don't know.  Ah well.  Thank the gods NaNoWriMo is about word count rather than coherence.

In other news, lethlogica has arrived!  She's getting settled in and--She's so thoughtful!--she brought me a NaNoWriMo Survival Kit today:  gift certificates to my favourite coffee shop!  Thanks, lady!  You rock!  :D

Went to Kate's booksigning last night with carrot_cake67, jaunthie, and Sanafi.  We had a great time buying books and getting them autographed, and then hanging out at Rainforest Cafe together eating way too much dessert.  We also helped carrot_cake67 find some fabu jewelry for her upcoming nuptuals.  Yay!

I was so caught up in the sugar rush of dessert that I didn't even think to suggest showing off the bling. D'oh!

It may be lots of boring stuff, but it's words on a page. It's probably easier to trim down and rearrange once you've gotten the words out of your head.

Kind of like it's easier to reorganize once you've gotten everything out of the moving boxes. But I digress. :}

Yeah. I'm just having more trouble with the concept this time around. It was easy last year. Of course last year I had smut to pad the word count, and this year no one seems inclined to get laid. 'Tis most irksome.
