Dunno if you recall when I submitted a story to Samhain's m/m Valentine anthology. Okay, in fact, I wrote the story specifically for the open request. Kind of like a challenge fic, you know? "Must be: m/m, red hot, valentiney, 25,000 words. Go!" Anywho, I've not been paying attention to much outside my little world lately so I only tonight noticed this blog post at Samhain's Weblog. Now don't misunderstand me. I wish the woman well and many sales. The point is I was with her up to the "vampire" part. Am I unhip? Am I ahead of the curve? Am I just spoiled? jenboo , I don't give a flying rat's ass about vampires. What is the fascination, people? Get over it! I'm not actually bitter about this, if that's what you're thinking. I'm just disappointed (and a little disgusted) that I lost out to a subgenre I consider passé. C'est la vie, eh? I console myself with the hope that I'll still be able to sell the story sometime.
