Major League Soccer is coming home!

That is to say, we'll be getting a major league team once again.  Something we haven't had in a loooong time.  I remember shrieking like some sort of new world bainsidhe the day the North American Soccer League went under and now, at last, we'll be getting a pro team again.  And thanks to jaunthie, I know about the website and, more importantly, the vote.  Why's that the most imporatant part? Because it's a chance to vote for the team name. THIS MATTERS!  The three names they've come up with suck ass to such an extent I wonder if the people were lobotomized before being sent into the brainstorming session.  They are common, boring, and completely UN-Seattle.  Clearly no effort was put in and no local research was done.  So, here's what I'm asking.  Whether you give a damn about soccer in Seattle or not, please please please consider registering simply so you can send a write-in vote to these idiots.  What you want to be writing-in, by the way, is "Sounders".  Just, please, for the love of sport and my childhood, do this for me?  I will send you virtual cookies.  Real ones, even, if I can get the USPS to deliver them to your location.  Thank you.

I suppose I could wait until you come visit in 2 months. It will be hard to wait that long...but I'm sure it will be well worth the wait. ;)
