You know they like to turn over our neighbourhood. I haven't gone out to see if I can spot them, but I keep hearing them off and on. I'm a little surprised you can't hear them where you are. Surely they do some turns over that way, too.
Nope. For once, no sarcasm from me. I *heart* the Blue Angels. I didn't grow up with a cowering pet and my current kitty understands that "It's just noise." She laid in the sun in the open doorway while they were flying today and she didn't bat an eye. I feel bad for scared pets, but there are herbal remedies to help with stuff like this. And in our case, explaining to Morag the first year we had her about it being harmless noise worked great. She just needs the occasional reminder when it wakes her from a deep sleep.
Not what I would have expected from Ken. I do try to keep my whining to a minimum, even if I'm not always successful. Still, "poetry in motion" is a bit rich for my blood.
"Poetry in motion" is a bit much, I agree. The rest of it... Even being the hippy child that I am, I have to agree to an extent. How many people who bitch about the air show don't give a second thought to how bad Nascar is for the planet, you know? People need to pick their battles, and I have to say that reducing one's own carbon footprint is a more reasonable and sensible battle than taking on the US Navy flyboys. (This has nothing to do with the fact that I dig those flightsuits and helmets. Nope. Nothing at all. ;) )
No love lost between me and Nascar, either. There just aren't any ready targets in the area to bitch about on that front. (Full disclosure: I used to watch the Indy 500 every year until I was about 12 or 13.)
It's a bit harsh. I think he's been getting snarkier as time has gone by. I have mixed feelings on his commentary, but mostly I have to agree. Get some Rescue Remedy or something calming from PetEssences.com for the pets. The stuff works well. Or just talk to them and explain it's only noise in the sky. That works for us.
And if some asshole can't drive his/her gas-guzzling Hummer over the floating bridge for a couple of days, tough shit. We all know it's coming the same time every year. It's not like it's a surprise to anyone.
