So, out of curiousity, why does it matter if they re-make it? they're not removing the original, they're not even taking it out of print or syndication, so...what good will it serve to stop them spending whatever money they want to on whatever they want? I don't particularly have a care one way or the other, but I find it a bit, um, anti-first ammendment-ish and almost scary right wing-ish to try to petition to stop an artistic endeavor of any kind, regardless of who's doing it and what they're re-making.
i'm just curious. :)
Now, if they said "we want to burn the original and replace it with a cheap knockoff" that would be another story. ;)

yup, that makes sense. so from your perspective the petition isn't "don't make it just because i don't want you to" it's more "get off your lazy ass and find something original"?

She's dead on. And people wonder why kids of today are so boring. They get remakes of remakes of remakes shoved down their throats so much so that they can't have an original thought themselves. Sadness.
