I've planned several "self-care" activities this week as a lead-up to my high school reunion on Saturday.  The first was a hair-cut and colour yesterday.  This was meant to make me look tidy and feel pretty.  The first will have succeeded--when I can stand to look in a mirror again and dry my hair properly.  I HATE THE COLOUR OF MY HAIR RIGHT NOW.  I called at 8 this morning and left a messages that I need to come back in as soon as possible so it can be fixed.  It's so dark that I don't look like me any more.  Ihateithateithateithateithateithateit.  I don't want to look at myself.  I don't want to go where people who know me will see me.  I went to bellydance last night and everyone's first reaction was "Who's that who just walked in?"  I sobbed big baby tears twice yesterday.  I shampooed my hair six times yesterday and once again this morning.  I couldn't sleep last night despite taking Benadryl.  I know I don't look awful--the colour itself is lovely just WAY TOO FUCKING DARK--but I feel genuinely ugly.  I haven't hated my reflection this much since before I lost the 40 extra pounds I was carrying around.

ETA:  Talked to my hair man a little before noon and now have an appt. for Friday at 12:30 to have him lighten it up with some highlights.  Wonder how much that's gonna cost me?  Is it too much to hope the answer is "nothing"?  *sigh*

:-( I'm so sorry. It should be a quick fix, thankfully, and I totally understand where you're coming from. It totally SUCKS that he screwed up that badly - and it's just not like him, either. Hopefully all will be better soon.

In all fairness, according to his notes it's the exact same colour he used in May. Maybe my hair was more damaged this time or something and it held too much of the pigment, although I haven't been mistreating or treating it any differently than usual. I don't know. I hope he calls back soon. Someone should be opening the place any minute now.

Thank you. *hugs* He's not called yet, and if he doesn't by noon, I'm calling again. I want to hide in my house, but I have committments outside today that I can't beg off. :(

Thanks. I wished we'd have actually discussed the colour yesterday before he started rather than him going to the notes and me assuming we were on the same page. Wishes, horses, you know. :(

Sweetie, you're beautiful no matter what color your hair is. I'm sorry it's gone all wrong and kabluie on you though. :(

It shouldn't cost you anything to get it fixed.

I can totally relate! Though my hair color mishap was at my own hands, not my stylist's. Wanting to save some money, I thought I'd do it myself. I either bought the wrong shade or let it sit too long or something. At any rate it ended up way darker than I wanted. My hair stylist was able to fix it with bleaching and the 'right' color - but it cost me way more than if I had let her do it to begin with. So never again.

I hope your hair person doesn't charge you too much to fix it too, especial since the coloring didn't go right to begin with.

So sorry you had your own miscolour misfortune. I got mine relatively repaired today--he had a cancellation. Now, while I still find the base too dark, at least there are highlights going "No, really. It's dark blonde. See?" And there was no charge, because he is a good and savvy businessman and a good person, too.

Forgot to answer your question. D'oh. The reunion is at Shilshole Bay somewhere. I forget exactly. I figure it out by Saturday night, though. ;)

Shilshole Bay - very nice. Mine was at The Garage - sounded very intriguing, but not enough that I wanted to attend. I'm sure yours will be great! Enjoy!! And have fun bragging too! You've earned it.

Thank you, sweetie. Bill's comment was similar, and then he post scripted it with "but you need to go back to blonde." I couldn't have agreed with that part more. All is improved now--a day earlier than anticipated, even, which is good. I really didn't want another night of poor sleep interrupted by mild panic attacks. Two were more than plenty, thanks.
