Oh, and my neighbours across the street are either being abducted by aliens or the government.  I'm not sure which.  ...  Just thought I'd mention it because, well, it's odd.

Neither. It was a giant white dome of a tent, tall as the house, in the front yard. There was a cool light show that went with it, too. It appears to be gone this morning.
