monkeybard: (Henry & Katherine)
[personal profile] monkeybard

I started the weekend off right by kidnapping [livejournal.com profile] jaunthie  and taking her to see Bodacious Ladyhood at Thumpers.  The show was outstanding of course, as was the chicken pot pie.  Everyone must go, dine, cheer, enjoy.  These are great ladies in a great venue with great food and bevvies.  :D  Huzzah! to [livejournal.com profile] jenboo  and the other Bodacious Ladies for another fantastic show!

On a personal note, I came out of the show feeling creatively re-energized, if you know what I mean.  I didn't immediately sit down at my computer and start working some more on Log 3:4, but I am now no longer feeling completely without inspiration on that particular front.  At this point, that's a major improvement.  Creative things I did work on this weekend, however, include the afghan I've been making for the Mama-san.  I got a bit stalled, it being summer and too warm for a while there.  Now it's nearly autumn and I can bear the idea of sitting under crocheted yarn.  I also spent several hours on Saturday making alterations to my Ephiny costume ( [shameless smugness] You know, the one that was part of a winning entry to a costume competition at a major XWP convention? [/shameless smugness] ) so that it fits properly for Halloween.  I'm pleased with what I accomplished, and that I didn't burn out and get frustrated before I got it done.  Yay, me!

I've done a great deal of cooking lately.  Thinking up dinners that I can build without going to the store or that only need one or two small items from the store.  It's gratifying.  And tonight it's going to be veggie vindaloo and salad.  I wonder if we have any sweet white wine in the basement?  That'd be yummy with the super-spicy curry.  Mmmm...
