monkeybard: (thinking hard)

...one step back.

I've made serious progress on Log 3:4 over the last week. I've gotten through the end of The Expanse at long last, and let me tell you, lots happened in those seven weeks they skipped in the episode.

Here's the one step back part. I don't know how to wrap this one up. I had an idea, and it's a good one, but I decided I was doing it because others wanted me to rather than because it was where I saw the story going. That just won't fly. It might work out that that's where the characters go later, but not right now. Unfortunately that's left we with this little dilemma. I've already rewatched the S3 opener, The Xindi, and it's no help for this. ::bangs head against wall repeatedly:: If I could even just wrap up the scene I'm stuck on, it'd be a start. Maybe I've followed a path that didn't need following, but I'll be damned if I can figure out where else the scene should have gone. It could have stayed in Engineering, but that part was done, IMO. That's why I followed the comm line into sickbay instead, but where the hell am I going from there? How do I get out? I think I'm going to have to go back to Engineering and try again. Maybe someone there has something more to say. ::crossing fingers doubtfully::

Hmmm... Just though of a possibility, but I don't have a clue if it will work. We'll see. Just get it on the screen. It's always easier to rewrite than to write...right?

i always found whenever i had to write things that i was stuck longer if i censored what i was writing before it got to the page. if i just wrote whatever came into my head, yeah, there was a lot of crap, but usually at least one good idea came out of it, sometimes 2 or 3.

but you probably already know that. ;)
