So much thinking

There were several things I wanted to blog about this week:
Friends in abusive relationships who not only refuse to leave them but refuse to reconize the abusiveness, and those that did recognize it and left the relationships - and I mean jobs as well as personal relationships here.
How angry I got when I heard the song lyrics "I don't see myself when I look at the flag...Thank god for that" because it's a liberal flag too, goddammit, and I hate how the fucking conservatives have stolen it from the people.
The fabulous bumperstickers I've seen like "Kerry, Edwards: Sounds pretty good now, doesn't it?" and the more direct "Impeach the fucker".
The incredible need to write more Log Rhythms when I heard the songs Blackhole Sun, No Excuses, and Make You Mine last night--unfortunately on my way to rehearsal.
This is all the blog you're going to get right now. I have rehearsal at 2:00, and I want to see if I can get in some writing before I have to leave...or before the wind storm takes out the power. Whichever comes first.

Date: 2006-02-07 08:27 pm (UTC)I'm beginning to think voting should be mandatory. If you're registered and don't vote, you should get fined. On the other hand, with the incredible level of ignoramuses (ignorami?) in this country I don't think I want some people voting. You know, I turned 18 on a Sunday, but the one thing I really wanted to do that day was register to vote. I had to go to a fire station to do it, but I did. The fact that people register and don't vote, or don't even register at all even though they're eligible, is disgusting to me. It's a priviledge, dammit, and it's an obligation. We owe it to ourselves and to each other to take responsibility. Of course, with people like Dubyah blatantly stealing elections and the republican party falsifying votes, it's difficult to make a difference. But it's all the more important to try.
