Passing the time...

...until dinner settles into my tummy. Then it's off to bed. It was final rehearsal tonight, and we got the show done at 2h45m. Who'd'a thunk it? Of course, we started at 8ish, ran the show, got notes, broke everything down and packed up our cars. Somerset and I left the parking lot at almost spot-on midnight. I got him home, and then myself home--and all without gnawing off a limb. Out late at a bar one night after a performance,
jaunthie once asked me how I could eat at that hour. I believe I said something to the effect of, "I'm an actor. We eat when the opportunity presents itself." And I probably said it with my mouth full. What many people don't think about, I think, is the fact that a stage actor's "work day" can easily start at 6 or 7 pm. If you work 9-5 (or thereabouts), what do you want when you get home? Probably dinner. Same here. I left for "work" at 4:30pm and got home about 12:45am, at which time I was very ready for dinner. Now my stomach is happily churning away on my little soft taco made with some leftover Chinese chicken dish and guac, salsa, etc. I might even be wound-down enough to sleep in the next half hour or so. I guess that means it's time to brush my teeth and go to bed.
I'd yawn, but I'm not quite there yet. Hang on. Wait for it...
