Small grammar rant
Aug. 28th, 2006 04:06 pmWhat is so difficult about using the proper pronouns when writing, or indeed when speaking? Why is this so difficult for so many people these days? I'm reading a story that just included the following sentence of dialogue: "If you don’t hear from either George or I, head straight for the Zanga village." . . . Me. The proper pronoun in this case is "me". ME, ME, ME! Fucking-a, why is this so fucking difficult?! It pulled me straight out of the story. Admittedly I'm a little tired of the story right now anyway. It's very good, but it's like watching a tv show with this great A-story and absolutely no B-story. It's unbalanced, and that makes it a little boring, IMO. It's a shame because otherwise I've really liked it (despite some other odd grammatical choices). ::sigh::
