monkeybard: (such rubbish)
Yes, there is such a thing as a grammar emergency. :-P

Lead (pronounedl leed) - present tense
Led ( prounoued led, just like it looks) - past tense

Therefore: he led the project;  analyses led to identifcation...

Am I wrong or am I right?  I've honestly confused myself here and I need someone to help me out.  So, help!

GAH!

monkeybard: (stupid people)
No wonder we're producing illiterate numbwits. I just found this on a high school website:

"Report Cards: Do to a printing error report cards will not be ready to send out this week as planned."

Do to?  DO to? Morons. I give them a failing grade on grammar on their report card.

Back to proofreading.

Just as I found it amusing years ago to discover that when faced with "Bacchae" MSWord's spell checker will offer "backhoe" as a possible correction, I find it amusing to learn tonight that when faced with the word "fuckwad" it offers "duckweed".

That is all...for the moment.  ::insert suspensful music::

That's right. I finally finished the first, rougher-than-sandpaper draft of my 2007 NaNovel.  It comes in at a little over 84,500 words making it far and away the longest single title I've written.  Now let's hope that no more than about 20,000 of those words suck rocks. LOL
